The washing, drying and storing routine that protects a silk or cashmere scarf — worth sharing with every customer.

A well-made silk scarf will last decades if it is cared for. Here is the routine we recommend retailers pass on to their customers.
Hand-wash silk in cool water with a mild, silk-safe detergent. Never wring or twist it. For cashmere, use a cashmere or wool wash. When in doubt, dry-clean — especially for printed pieces where dyes may run.
Roll the scarf in a clean towel to lift out excess water, then lay it flat to dry away from direct sunlight. Never tumble-dry silk or cashmere — heat shrinks and dulls the fibre.
Store scarves flat or loosely rolled, never on a hanger (which stretches the fabric). Keep silk away from perfume, hairspray and sharp jewellery, which can snag or stain.
Iron silk on the lowest heat setting while slightly damp, on the reverse side. Cashmere rarely needs ironing — steam it instead.
Add a one-line care card to every scarf you ship, and you turn a care routine into a brand touch — we can print one inside every sample or bulk order. Stock up on the right fibres in silk and cashmere.
