Print methods: digital vs screen vs jacquard

The three main ways a scarf gets its pattern are digital printing, screen printing and jacquard weaving. You can see all three in our printed squares and bandanas range.

Digital (sublimation) printing

Inkjet printing directly onto fabric. Unlimited colours, photographic detail, no screens or setup cost. Best for complex artwork and small-to-medium runs.

Screen printing

Each colour is applied through its own screen. Very consistent, economical at high volumes, but each extra colour adds cost. Best for simple designs at large quantity.

Jacquard weaving

The pattern is woven into the fabric itself, not printed on top. Rich, textured, permanent — but pattern detail is coarser and development cost is higher.

Recommendation

For most new buyers, digital printing offers the best balance of detail, flexibility and low MOQ. Reserve jacquard for signature pieces where you want the pattern woven in.

Printing at YANYAN

We colour-match to Pantone references and reproduce your artwork digitally, with a physical pre-production sample in about 7–10 days. Bulk then runs 7–14 days after you approve the sample. For custom print, most designs start at 20–100 pieces per design; a woven label and swing tag bring your own branding onto the finished piece. See our OEM / ODM process for the full path from artwork to bulk.
