Silk vs cashmere scarf — what is the difference?

Silk is a protein fibre from silkworm cocoons; cashmere comes from the soft undercoat of cashmere goats. We stock both — silk scarves and cashmere & wool winter scarves.

  • Warmth — cashmere is much warmer for its weight; silk is more breathable and suits warm weather and layering.
  • Feel — silk is smooth and lustrous; cashmere is soft and fluffy.
  • Price — both are premium, but heavy silk and pure cashmere sit at similar high price points; blends bring both down.

Stock silk for fashion, gifts and warm climates; stock cashmere and wool blends for winter and gifting. Not sure where your market sits? Tell us your region and season and we will recommend the mix.
