What is the difference between woollen and worsted wool scarves?
Woollen yarns are softer and fuzzier; worsted yarns are smoother and more structured

Woollen and worsted describe how the wool yarn is spun, and that choice changes the hand, durability and price of the finished scarf. Woollen yarns are spun from shorter fibres with less alignment, so the surface stays fuzzy and the fabric traps more air. Worsted yarns are combed to remove short fibres and spun tightly, giving a smooth, fine, more structured cloth.
Hand feel - woollen scarves feel softer and warmer against the skin; worsted scarves feel cooler, drier and more tailored.
Durability - worsted yarns resist pilling better because the fibres are longer and more tightly bound. Woollen scarves can fuzz and pill with heavy wear.
Price - worsted spinning adds processing steps, so worsted scarves usually sit at a higher price than woollen at the same weight.
End use - choose woollen for casual, chunky winter scarves where warmth and softness matter most. Choose worsted for finer, dressier scarves, tailored looks and corporate gifting where a clean surface and logo clarity are important.
