How do I wash and care for a cashmere scarf?
Hand wash cool with wool detergent, dry flat, de-pill gently and store protected

Cashmere should be hand washed in cool water with a wool-safe detergent, then dried flat away from direct heat.
Washing - use cool water and a detergent formulated for wool and animal fibres. Never use biological detergent or fabric softener, and never wring or twist the scarf.
Rinsing - rinse in water at the same temperature as the wash. A sudden change in temperature can felt the fibre.
Drying - press the water out in a towel, reshape the scarf and dry it flat. Do not hang it wet, which stretches the fabric, and do not tumble dry.
De-pilling - light pilling is normal on cashmere and blends. Remove it with a cashmere comb or a fabric shaver held lightly against the surface.
Storage - fold rather than hang, and store clean with protection against moths. Cedar or a sealed bag both work.
These instructions are the ones to pass to your retail customers on the care label.
