Is your silk ethically produced and cruelty-free?

Mulberry silk comes from cocoons, and we can confirm our own sourcing while buyers specify any standard they require

Is your silk ethically produced and cruelty-free?

Mulberry silk is an animal-derived fibre: the filament is reeled from the cocoon of the silkworm, and the standard commercial process does not allow the moth to emerge. That is the honest starting point for any buyer asking about ethics or cruelty-free status.

What we can confirm is our own part of the chain. We weave, print, finish and inspect in our own factory in Hefei, Anhui, so the mill stage is under our control and open to buyer audit. For the raw silk itself we buy from silk suppliers, and we source to the requirement the buyer specifies.

If you need a standard - tell us which one, for example an organic or responsible-silk certification, and we will source to that requirement and provide the supplier documentation that comes with it.

If you need a claim on your label - agree the exact wording with us before production, because the claim has to be one your supplier can support with paperwork.

We do not publish a certification we do not hold, and we will not describe silk as cruelty-free unless the specific supply chain supports that wording.
