How do I tell real silk from fake silk?

Real mulberry silk is smooth and cool to the touch, with a soft, subtle sheen that shifts with the light — not a flat plastic shine. It also softens and warms in your hand quickly. Polyester look-alikes feel slightly slick and less breathable.

The most reliable check, though, is the label. Our silk scarves are 100% pure mulberry silk and each is labelled with its grade and momme weight; our silk-feel polyester is labelled clearly as polyester, never as silk. That transparency is the point — a product page always states the true fibre, so you never have to guess. Read how we label silk.
