How do I size a shawl for tall versus petite wearers?

For a tall wearer, choose a shawl of at least 100x200 cm; for a petite wearer, a smaller size such as 90x180 cm will drape without overwhelming the frame. The key is that the shawl should wrap comfortably around the shoulders and still have enough length to hang elegantly.

Length - A tall wearer typically needs 200 cm or more so the shawl can be wrapped once and still fall below the waist. A petite wearer may find 180 cm sufficient, as excess length can look bulky.

Width - A width of 100 cm or more gives a generous drape that stays put on broader shoulders. For narrower frames, a width of 70-90 cm is often enough to cover the shoulders without slipping.

Drape - Taller wearers can carry a heavier, wider shawl; petite wearers often prefer a lighter weight so the fabric folds rather than stands away from the body.

We stock oversized shawls from 100x200 cm upward, and custom sizes are cut to spec from the standard minimum. If you are unsure, order a sample in the intended size to check the drape on your target customer.
