How do I care for a wool-blend scarf so it keeps its shape?
Wash wool blends cool and by hand, dry flat, never hang, and store folded with cedar or lavender

Wash a wool-blend scarf by hand in cool water with a pH-neutral wool detergent, then dry it flat. Heat and agitation are what shrink wool and pull a scarf out of shape, so keep both out of the process.
Washing - use cool water and a mild wool wash. Squeeze gently rather than rubbing, and never wring or twist the scarf.
Drying - press the water out in a towel, then lay the scarf flat on a dry towel or mesh rack, reshaping it to its finished dimensions while damp. Hanging a wet wool-blend scarf stretches it and the shape does not come back.
Blocking - once dry, steam lightly and pat the edges straight. This resets the rib or flat finish and keeps the ends square.
De-pilling - pills form where the scarf rubs against a coat collar. Remove them with a fabric shaver or a small comb rather than pulling them off, which drags more fibre loose.
Storage - fold flat, do not hang on a hook, and keep with cedar or lavender. A folded scarf holds its shape far better than one left on a rail.
Blends with a higher wool content are less forgiving than a 5-10% cashmere blend, so pass the same instructions to your customer on the care label.
