How to source silk scarves from China: a retailer's guide

Sourcing scarves from China is straightforward once you know the sequence. Here is the path we walk buyers through every week, from our factory in Hefei, Anhui.

1. Define the spec

One clear line beats a long brief: "6A mulberry silk twill, 16 momme, 90×90 cm, hand-rolled hem, 20 pieces per colour." That single sentence tells a factory the grade, weight, size, finish and minimum.

2. Shortlist by real catalogue

Browse a live, in-stock catalogue rather than a mood board — our 1,000+ designs across six categories are ready to order, which is faster and cheaper than commissioning from zero.

3. Sample first

Order a physical sample (about 7–10 days) and approve fabric, colour and finish before bulk. Sampling is the cheapest insurance in the trade.

4. Order, inspect, ship

Confirm on a 30% deposit, we run AQL inspection before dispatch, and ship by express, air or sea. See how to buy for the full flow.
