What colour fastness can I expect from printed silk?
Fastness varies by dye and print method; specify your requirement and we test to it

Colour fastness depends on the dye class, the print method and the finishing route, so we do not publish a single rating that applies across the range. What we can do is produce to the requirement you specify and confirm the result at sample stage.
What the property means - fastness is the resistance of a dyed or printed colour to fading or bleeding when exposed to washing, rubbing, light, perspiration or water. It is measured separately for each of those exposures, so a single number never describes the whole picture.
Why it varies - digital print and screen print lay colour down differently, and different dye classes behave differently on silk. Deeper shades and high-coverage prints are generally harder to fix than pale ones.
How to specify it - tell us the test categories and the performance level your market requires, for example wash fastness, rub fastness and light fastness to a named standard. We source and finish to that requirement rather than to a generic default.
The exact figures for your design are confirmed at sample stage, where you can test the approved sample before bulk production begins.
