How should a boutique price and merchandise large shawls?

Price large shawls as a high-value accessory rather than a volume scarf, and merchandise them where they can be touched and draped.

Pricing - our wholesale bands are roughly $6-$25 for cashmere and cashmere-blend shawls, $8-$20 for heavy 19-22 momme silk, and $1.5-$4 for wool-blend winter scarves. Pricing is tiered and steps down at 100, 500 and 1,000 pieces from a 20-piece start, so your landed cost depends on how deep you buy per design.

Display - hang or drape at least one shawl open so the full size and print read at a distance. Keep a folded stack nearby so customers can feel the weight and finish.

Seasonality - lead with light printed shawls in spring and summer, and shift the space to wool and cashmere from autumn. The autumn/winter peak also lengthens bulk production, so book earlier.

Storytelling - state the fibre content, the momme or blend percentage and the exact size in cm on the ticket. Buyers of large shawls ask these questions, and clear labelling supports the price.

Packaging - a shawl is often bought as a gift, so a box or sleeve and a woven label lift perceived value at modest cost.
