Plan orders around the Spring Festival slowdown to avoid a gap in your stock

How does the Chinese New Year holiday affect scarf production and shipping?

The Chinese New Year period slows production and shipping, so the practical answer is to place orders well before it and to expect a gap rather than a precise shutdown date.

In the weeks before the holiday, factories wind down as workers travel home, and in the weeks after, they return gradually. Output is not at normal levels at either end of the period, and the exact dates shift each year with the lunar calendar.

Stock orders - normally 3-7 days to prepare and ship, but allow considerably longer if your order falls close to the holiday.

Custom samples - normally 7-10 days, and a sample approved just before the break may not move into bulk until the factory is fully back.

Bulk production - normally 7-14 days after sample approval, and this is the stage most exposed to the slowdown.

Shipping - express, air and sea freight all tighten around the holiday as volumes bunch up, so book space early.

The safe approach is to confirm your designs and place your order so that bulk production finishes before the factory winds down, or to accept that it starts after the return. If you are unsure how the calendar falls in a given year, ask us and we will confirm the position at order stage.
