How do I choose the width of a twilly for bag versus neck wear?

For bag wear, choose a twilly of 5-6 cm width; for neck wear, 7-8 cm is often preferred. The width affects how the twilly ties and drapes, as well as fabric consumption and price.

Bag wear - A narrower twilly (5-6 cm) wraps neatly around bag handles without adding bulk, and is less likely to slip. It is also more economical because it uses less fabric.

Neck wear - A wider twilly (7-8 cm) provides more coverage and presence when tied at the neck, and can be styled in more visible knots. It uses more fabric, so the price per piece is slightly higher.

Market preferences - Some markets favour very narrow twillies for bag accessories, while others prefer wider ones for neckwear. We recommend ordering samples in both widths to test your market.

All widths within the 5-8 cm range are available from the standard minimum. Custom widths can be cut to spec.
