Do you offer brushed or felted finishes on wool scarves?
Yes, both finishes are available and are specified by hand feel and appearance

Yes, we offer brushed and felted finishes on wool scarves. Both are finishing steps applied after weaving, and each changes the hand feel and appearance in a different way.
Brushed finish - brushing raises the fibre surface to create a soft, fuzzy hand and a slightly blurred appearance. It makes the scarf feel warmer and more tactile, but the raised surface can pill more with wear.
Felted finish - felting compacts the fibres so the surface closes up, giving a denser, smoother hand and a more solid look. It reduces the visibility of the weave and makes the scarf more wind-resistant, but it also makes the fabric firmer and less drapey.
Care - both finishes need gentle care. Brushed wool is more prone to pilling, and felted wool should be washed carefully to avoid further shrinkage.
Specifying the finish - tell us the hand feel and appearance you want, and we will match it at sample stage. The exact finish is confirmed on the sample.
