Are twillies hand-rolled or machine-hemmed?

Both finishes are available on twillies, with hand-rolling adding cost and lead time

Both are available, and the choice is specified per order. On a narrow twilly the edge is a large share of the visible surface, so the finish matters more than it does on a large square.

Hand-rolled - the edge is rolled and stitched by hand with a fine needle. On a 5-8 cm wide twilly this gives a soft, rounded edge that sits flat when knotted and reads as a luxury finish. It is slower per piece and adds to the unit cost.

Machine-hemmed - a flat or rolled machine hem. Faster, more consistent piece to piece, and cheaper. On very narrow widths a machine hem can feel slightly firmer in the hand.

Because twillies are narrow, hand-rolling is the more common request at the luxury end. Tell us the finish you want when you enquire and we will quote both so you can compare the cost and lead time directly.
