What is the difference between a blanket scarf and a poncho wrap?
A blanket scarf is a large flat rectangle; a poncho wrap is closed or seamed and worn over the head

A blanket scarf is a large flat rectangle that is wrapped, folded or thrown over the shoulders, while a poncho wrap is closed or seamed so it goes on over the head and stays in place without pinning.
Blanket scarf - an oversized flat format, typically from 100x200 cm upward in our shawl and wrap range. It is worn open, folded in half, or wrapped once, and doubles as a travel throw. Because it is flat, it packs down small and one size suits most customers.
Poncho or cape - constructed with a neck opening, and often a seam or button at the shoulder. It needs a defined neckline and a more stable fabric so the drape falls evenly rather than collapsing. Sizing matters more, since the neck opening and drop are fixed.
Fabric weight - both need enough weight to hang rather than cling. A poncho generally wants a firmer, denser quality than a blanket scarf, which can be softer and lighter because it is supported by the way it is wrapped.
Both formats are cut to spec from the standard minimum. Send the dimensions and we will confirm the fabric and construction at sample stage.
