Ordering Silk Scarves to Brazil — Plan the Sea Freight

Ordering silk scarves to Brazil — plan around the sea

A Brazilian silk scarf order is a calendar decision first. Sea freight from China to Santos runs about 30–45 days port-to-port and stretches in peak season, so the transit, not the factory, usually sets the deadline. A buyer working to a retail season places the order a full quarter ahead; express and air cover only samples and small top-ups.

Why Brazilian buyers group designs

Because the sea leg is long and the import cost high, Brazilian buyers tend to fill one shipment well rather than send several small ones. That suits our low minimum — 20 pcs per colour on stock silk scarves, 100 pcs per design for a custom printed silk scarf — because it lets you combine a light silk chiffon, a 90×90 cm silk twill square and a silk bandana into a single full carton.

Sample before the container

We produce a silk scarf sample in about 5–7 days. For Brazil, approve the colour-fastness as well as the colour: a bright printed silk scarf should hold under strong sun, which is the one complaint we work hardest to prevent for warm markets.
